Rev. Christine W. Herrin was called to Evergreen in March 2025.
She received her Masters of Divinity Degree from Princeton Seminary in NJ in 1997, after serving as a Youth Director and Young Life Church Partner at Northwest Presbyterian in Atlanta. Prior to that she worked as Trust Officer at Trust Company Bank of Georgia. 

Chris has 28 years’ experience in ordained ministry; as a Solo Pastor at Limestone Presbyterian Church in Gaffney, SC, as an Associate Pastor at Sardis Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC and prior to Evergreen, as Pastor Head of Staff at Low Country Presbyterian Church in Bluffton, SC (Hilton Head area).

Growing up, Chris lived in various southern states, except for four years in Scotland. She attended middle and high school in Jamestown, NC, and received her BA from Furman University in Greenville, SC. Chris is married to Dan who teaches English and Composition at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. They have two children: Jake who lives in Miami, with two big dogs, and Lucy who recently started as an RN at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.  Chris likes to exercise, read, see movies, travel, learn, attempt to grow things in her yard, and play at golf and photography on occasion. It was in her years in youth ministry that Chris began to feel the call of God to seminary. It was clear, however, before then that God was giving her opportunities and experiences that would shape and grow within her the desire to share with others the good news of God’s love and grace.

Chris is humbled to serve with the committed membership of Evergreen

and is encouraged to see the fruits of their faithfulness in the strengthening and expansion of current ministries and the new initiatives underway so that others might be drawn in to grow and serve our Lord with us.
